Pleasantly surprised!
I have to review this cake. First of all it comes frozen. Did not know that! It’s good to know because it arrived early so I stored it in freezer. Some other reviews mention these things so I think they should be in large print in the listing, but they’re hard to find. Box only had a small sticker indicating it was a cake so snoopy family will probably find, but in my case it was okay. I let it thaw overnight and sit outside of the fridge for about 2 hours day of. Another reviewer here said she spread out the icing to cover the pre-slice cuts, but I had no such luck. The icing isn’t exactly spreadable 🤔 and there are parchment sheets in between the slices. I did the traditional cake march to the birthday kid which required grabbing the cake…. don’t do this to a pre-sliced pastel unless you’re good at keeping them all together to make a circle 😄 Luckily I was able to hold it together long enough for candle blowout! We were having such a good time no one but me noticed or cared about these things, I’m simply sharing!!NOW: The real unfair part was I got about 3 quick bites before I was off to other party matters and by the time late guests arrived and I went to grab them some cake, I discovered it was GONE! 😂🫠 It was so good we had no leftover cake, people! And, as many did, I halved the pre-sliced slices! I threw away a lot of half full water bottles (tsk tsk, party people) but ZERO half eaten cake plates. In fact, I had people asking where I got it, if I made it, how much it was, all planning to buy one themselves. They spoke to how moist it was and how anti-icing club members really liked the icing!Aesthetically, cutting into a cake and delivering a 🌈 slice was a wow moment. There was a moment of silence for all plain, single-colored cakes out there. The birthday young man does not like cake, never has, and as he reminds me of this, I handed him the first slice and asked “Even this cake?” “Well I’ll try it…”Let’s just say the cookies and cupcakes we had out as backup didn’t get touched.We’ll be buying again. Probably just for the sake of cake.

Packaging
The styrofoam container arrived with 2 corners severely damaged. Luckily the cake did not appear to be damaged, although there was no dry ice-probably indicating that the package sat in a facility for some time. The interior box that contained the cake was wet, but, again, the cake did not appear to be damaged. The cake was ordered for a family birthday to be celebrated on May 27th, so it was frozen. This is one of our favorite family birthday cakes, so I will update this review as to whether or not the above conditions affected the consistency and taste.

This IS a no sugar added dessert. Beware!
Allow 5-7 days for delivery. It mentioned 2 days when I ordered, but it took longer, which is OK. Just plan for it.The cake was delicious and very pretty. I served it at my birthday party. I am trying to avoid sugar and desserts., so I went with no sugar added. The ingredients in the dessert caused 4 of my guests to have a blow-out reaction the next day. In the future, I will order a regular cake and eat a few bites. It was a very good cake, I just learned my lesson. I may order from David’s again – I will order a regular cake, or make my own cake (very delicious, using homemade buttercream frosting). Party On!

Lucious carrot cake

Huge cake, precut and delicious! Perfect for kids’ parties!
I saw this cake here on Amazon just about a year ago and thought it would be perfect for my twins’ birthday. And it was even better than that as I was surprised at how fresh and really delicious it was not to mention the generous size. It was even pre-cut into the perfect size pieces which saved time and extra messes. And one thing I’d like to mention that I was wondering before I bought it , if it had that too much food coloring taste. And the answer is no, it was very moist and delicious!

Great carrot cake, get one or more
This is my 4th one. Excellent carrot cake. Wonderful frosting, moist and delicious cake. Very highly recommend.Only this time it was delivered on a 95 degree day, left exposed to the sun on a hot driveway, containing NO dry ice although the packaging says beware contains dry ice. Fortunately I was home so it wasn’t outside very long. The cake had started to soften. It went directly into the freezer.

I’ve never actually ordered a cake online before now. But this rainbow cake stayed on my mind for days after I saw it! To be honest, I was always too nervous that something would go wrong (like the cake would be stale, or smashed or it just wouldn’t live up to the photo) and I’d regret ordering. So I read through the reviews, looked at all of the review photos, and decided to take a chance. Well, I’m incredibly glad I did!David’s Cookies makes a gorgeous cake! The vibrantly beautiful colors of this cake, and its overall appearance were a 100% match with the Amazon photo. I was so happy about that!The shipping time (2 days) and the way the cake was very carefully packed, ensured that the cake was in perfect condition when I received it.Now for the taste: this cake was fantastic!You never know exactly what a cake will taste like, other than the fact that it’s a vanilla cake. So you can’t know if the flavors will suit your particular taste, but for me, this cake was really really good. It’s got a lot of frosting, and I was somewhat worried it might taste a little too sweet, and overpower the flavor of the cake. That was not the case at all, it was perfect! The frosting was sweet, but it was a more subtle sweetness when compared with store bought buttercream frosting. The cake was able to hold its own, and was complemented by the frosting.The texture of the cake was wonderful too. It was dense enough not to fall apart, but was nice and moist at the same time. First I wanna say packaging was superb 👌🏻 and cake came in great condition! When unwrapped me and my oldest son took a slice and instantly fell in love! The cake was so moist and the icing was thick and creamy, definitely not anything fake like whipped cream. I couldn’t resist and ended up eating every single slice throughout the week 😩 it was seriously just so good! I may order again just for myself haha

One layer of flavor
I wanted to try this cake to see if it’s like the one Walmart sells by the slice. Well it is. The cake part doesn’t have much flavor but it’s very pretty.The ganache is rich and there’s lots of it.It’s not worth the money. If they could make the cake layers have some sort of flavor I would change my rating. The only flavor is in the ganache. It’s really odd to eat flavorless cake.

Beautiful Cake
This cake came as expected. I do wish it could have come a little bit earlier in the day instead of after 5:00 p.m. because I had somewhere I had to be and was not home when it was delivered, and it was raining pretty hard outside. Luckily my daughter was home and brought the package inside, but since the cake was for her, I couldn’t have her unpack it yet. But if the cake had come before I left, I could have found a place for it to thaw out, so we could have eaten it later when we got home. She loved the cake. It’s a beautiful cake, and I did end up eating a piece of it, and it was mostly thawed, but very chilled. The cake is huge, it would not fit on either of my cake dishes so we had to put it back in the box. But the box was pretty flimsy after being in the Styrofoam crate where it became damp because of the dry ice. So I would suggest a sturdier box since most people will need to use it to store the cake. Just a thought. But the cake tasted very good.

Exactly what I was looking for!
This was the perfect cake for my 11yr old neon glow skating party.. the colors are vibrate and the pre-cuts were perfect. Cake slices are big as well, folks was like wowww when they saw the colors lol..My guests all loved the cake. The funny thing is when they ask me where did I order it from , I told the Amazon, lol they said AMAZON lol like that was a first cause none of them new Amazon sold Cakes lol. Anyway everyone really loved the cake!!! I did order a Edible neon pink glitter spray pump to give it some birthday shine!!!

This Cake Is HUGE But Still All Good!
This cake is perfect! It arrived early, was perfectly sliced, tastes great, and looks great! You can serve it as-is or add additional decorations to it. I added rainbow sprinkles to mine! The cake is huge though, and I will have leftovers for a while. But I will definitely consider buying more cakes from David’s Cookies in the future!

Beautiful and delicious
Purchased for my daughter’s birthday. Cake arrived a few days early packed in dry ice and ready to go.It’s pre-sliced with precision so it doesn’t take away from the look of the cake at all (you have to really look at the photo to see it, I missed it) . What I love about this is how icing, cake, & filling combine beautifully so that it’s not too sweet. The top of icing is pretty sweet though.Years ago I ordered my first cake from David’s—a red white and blue one, designed for the Fourth of July although I bought it for my birthday. That one had a slightly different icing and filling even more perfectly fit together and a melt in your mouth quality. This rainbow cake I always wanted to try but somehow never got around to it until now.Love the way it was shipped, perfect packaging, plenty of dry ice & right to my door. Would definitely buy again and am going to for my oldest’s birthday this March.

aesthetically pleasing cake
this cake looks beautiful on the inside but it taste bland to me (i like diabetic shock sweet 😂), i feel it’s the perfect medium for kids all the way up to adult ages , it’s not overly sweet to turn off adults and it’s not bland enough for kids to hate it (in my opinion room temperature taste better) ,also it definitely needs sprinkles or something to bring it to life it’s boring to look at

it was a bit harder than I was expecting.
normally cookie mix this thick, tends to be on the softer side, but sadly, that isn’t the case here. I had to pop it in the microwave for a few seconds to get it to soften enough so I could eat them, and I couldn’t eat them all fast enough before they became so hard even the microwave didn’t work any more. Their cheesecake is a much better bargain.

Be ready to eat it when delivered!
It appears that they try to package the cake well but UPS destroyed the packaging. Cake was only slightly cool when delivered so we just dug in!!!If your cake is for a surprise or special moment I’d suggest buying some extra frosting, or sprinkles if you like them, to touch it up for photos. The inside layers are gorgeous and perfect.The cake itself was decent and not too sweet. The dyes did not have a strong taste. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I wasn’t sure what to expect with an online order but hoped the taste was better than a Walmart cake. (It was!)I ordered this for a gift to try it out before counting on ordering one for a party in a few weeks. I’ll order a cake from a local bakery for the party instead because warm cake won’t last to the next day according to the seller. It was still fun and worth a try!

Best cake
My girlfriend lives in a very small town. I really wanted to get her a cake for her birthday. But unfortunately the only place to buy a cake was the piggly wiggly. It’s a market that doesn’t deliver and I live in a whole different state. So I saw this cake she was so happy and said it is rainbow just like the picture. Bueatiful and big. But best of all she said it is the best tasting cake she has ever had.

Supermoist rainbow cake
I had my doubts about ordering a cake from halfway across the country for my child’s birthday party, but I could not be more pleased. The cake portions are generous. We cut them in half to serve the children. The cake is super moist, great texture, not too sweet, beautiful with vivid colors, and all around great. I will be ordering another one, and would recommend it to anyone. All of the teachers wanted to know where they could order the cake too! Well done!

Good Tasting Cake But…..
For the price you pay for this cake, it should be like gold. Yes, it arrived as described, and the cake islarge, and taste good. But personally, the icing is just ok. I tried it for the first time, but personally, I would never order again. You can buy a great cake at a good bakery and not pay an arm and a leg. Just try it once for a REAL special occasion, and then you and others should decide if it was worth the money. Everyone’s taste is different. You will only know if you buy it, and then decide if you want another order. I have slices still in the freezer for future use.

Rainbow cake
The cake came in a large box with 5 lbs of dry ice. It was in perfect condition. It was however very large. Night of party every one loved it. Cake was very moist and icing not to sweet. Thanks to Amazon and David’s cookies. It was a great Happy Birthday cake.

Beautiful cake, but came a week early with expiration date past…
I tried to buy this cake for my son’s birthday during Black Friday sales and it would not let me deliver to our address. Then when the price went back up, miraculously I was able to ship it to our home. The cake arrived perfectly intact and looks beautiful… but it came a whole week earlier than the date I was given, and so I was not expecting it. My biggest issue is that the cake box was labelled with an expiration date that was already a week past and so now I’m worried that it was baked a long time ago and then sent to me when I paid full price for it. I would order again since they have other kinds of cake, but not at this price and only if it was not after the expiration date.

Not what I expected
When it came in I was excited. It was boxed great and I liked that the pieces were all ready cut. It looked like it was going to be amazing but when I tried it I was not impressed. It had overly sugary frosting that was to sweet to eat. The cake part was ok but nothing what I thought it was going to be. I would have been better off buying a cake mix and doing it myself. It was a waste of money.

Delicious, Packed Perfectly, Delivered early…
Hi all, wow, I had such a good experience with my order of David’s Carrot Cake. However, David’s delivered one week too early. 1. I had already ordered a David’s Cheese Cake for Christmas Eve dinner. So, two problems with the unexpected ‘early delivery ‘. 1. Our freezer & refrigerator were filled to the brim with ingredients including the Cheese Cake forChristmas Eve plus, Christmas Day dinners & some extra ingredients for New Year’s for hors’ derours + dinner. After Christmas Day meals, expected delivery, Dec. 27 – 28th, was going to be perfect. My freezer & refrigerator would have been cleared out, by my healthy big eaters, creating space for arrival of David’s delicious Carrot Cake, Will I reorder from David’s, of course, we will !!! Probably every celebrations and holidays plus, we’ll order gifts too!

Attack of the monster COCONUT CAKE!
This is not a carrot cake. It’s a coconut cake dressed as a carrot cake.It’s very beautiful and elegant looking, I would be proud to present this at a formal gathering, however the coconut was just simply too overwhelming.No nuts, no raisins. I will never understand this.You actually chose to take away the things that make a carrot cake good like nuts and raisins, to replace with coconut?Who approved this? Shame on you.Overall 3 stars. Good, beautiful and somehow very disappointing at the same time.David, get rid of the coconut 😒

WOW!!! Delicious & colorful! The cake was moist and delicious after defrosting it. The layered colors were vibrant. The box came in great condition. Even if the delivery person put the box on its side at my door and who ever and however they handled the box, the cake was perfectly wrapped with no bumps or dents to the cake. That being said there must have been a lot of dry ice to keep the cake frozen and from moving around, but when I opened the box there were only a few pieces of dry ice left. So great packaging and super frozen cake. Thank you. I will definitely be buying again.

Game changer!
Phenomenal birthday cake. The order came way earlier than expected, but I stored in the freezer and I took out to thaw 5 to 4 hours before serving. It worked out perfect. The colors were vibrant. The frosting was light, not too sugary, and it felt like we were eating cake and ice cream at the same time. It was perfect. It was delicious and everyone loved it great purchase highly recommend.

Never thought this would actually taste good
I took a chance on ordering this as the sole cake for my daughter’s 7th bday gathering. It was pretty and fit our simple theme so figured I was willing to sacrifice a little on taste and quality for this one occasion. Also, the glowing reviews from my Amazon community gave me confidence this wouldn’t be a complete disaster so I decided to give it a shot.Well, lo and behold–not only did this cake look great but it tasted really good and fresh (despite being frozen)! It arrived on a Thursday, I put it in the freezer as soon as it arrived. I moved it to the refrigerator Saturday night and put it out on the counter to get to room temperature around 2pm on Sunday. We served it at around 5pm and it was perfect! Way better than I expected. Very pleased!

I highly recommend the vanilla (with rainbow layers inside). I bought it before Christmas and kept it in the freezer, except for swiping one slice every few days. Fantastic. The vanilla comes precut, but I feel those slices could be cut in half as well as this is very sweet and filling.Their shipping is very cautious. The cake was still partially-mostly frozen (as the box says it should be)and it wasn’t damaged or smooshed at all.

When I unboxed the following day, it was still cold. It was moist and everyone enjoyed it. The pieces are rather large so everyone was splitting pieces. I would highly recommend!

Still had dry ice in the bottom. Great gift idea too. Taste so yummy. Would order again. Davids has always been good so far for me.

Delectable!
My tastebuds are currently having a “field day”! Absolutely delicious. I can taste the fresh ingredients (carrots, cocunut & walnuts). I’m on an 1800 calorie/day dietary intake . That being said and moving forward @ 630 calories/slice (this is one of my 3 meals) It arrived well packaged. I was skeptical with the delivery window of 4 days with reference to freshness ( all 5 stars) The only very minut downside is that the ups guy placed it on its side but only two of the carrot icings were stuck to the cellophane but I was able to place them back on the two respective slices. This is the closest to homemade as it gets.

Great birthday cake for a large crowd/party that can help you eat it
I wanted to do something different. So I figured, ‘Why not get a cake, since it’s going to be wet, cold, rainy and messy?’. I had no intentions of doing anything anyway. One slice has a lot of sugar content. There are layers of pudding inside the cake. Nonetheless, the cake was delicious. Took some cake to my coworkers and to some family members. Next time, I’ll get a cupcake with a candle and call it a day.
